🛡️ Privacy and Data Processing
Notes and recordings are stored on your device first. Enabling iCloud sync also syncs them through Apple iCloud. Online transcription and cloud AI send the content needed for processing to online services. Local-first storage does not mean that cloud AI runs entirely on your device.
Device Storage by Default
Notes and recordings are stored on your device by default. Supported on-device transcription and translation run locally. Check your app for device, system and language support.
Optional iCloud Sync
Enabling iCloud Sync syncs data through Apple iCloud on supported Apple devices. Sync resumes automatically after reconnecting. This does not imply Android iCloud support.
Online Transcription and Cloud AI
Manually starting online high-accuracy transcription sends the audio needed for processing to online services. Cloud AI summaries and mind maps also send the necessary text for processing. Consult the privacy policy for collection, retention and processing rules.
A partner cloud provider's certifications apply only within that provider's certification scope. They do not certify the inFin app or local device storage.
Backup and Export
Before changing devices or uninstalling, confirm that syncing has finished and export a backup. Unsynced and unbacked-up data may be lost with the device or app.
