Does iCloud sync work without an internet connection?
No. You can record and edit on your device while offline; iCloud sync resumes automatically when you reconnect; online high-accuracy transcription must be started manually. Apple devices need the same Apple ID and the appropriate iCloud permissions. Confirm that syncing has finished before switching devices.
iCloud sync transfers notes, recordings, and tags between supported Apple devices signed in to the same Apple ID. You can record and edit offline, then sync after reconnecting. iCloud sync is separate from Android cross-platform sync.
What you record on your iPhone should already be there when you come back to your Mac.
iCloud multi-device sync — free users can use it too.
What It Does
- Auto-sync: notes, recordings, and tags sync between iPhone / iPad / Mac via iCloud;
- One tag set: a shared tag system across devices, one tag governs all;
- Offline editing: keep recording when offline, sync intelligently when back online.
How to Turn It On
- Open System Settings, confirm you're signed in with your Apple ID and that iCloud is available;
- In "inFin - Me - Data Sync," turn on the iCloud Sync toggle;
- Sign in to other devices with the same Apple ID and you're set.
Notes
- Recording files are large, so the first sync may be slow — we recommend using Wi-Fi;
- What's synced is the full note content, including the transcribed text, marks, and tags;
- If both sides edit the same note, the later-saved version wins.

Q: Does sync go through your servers? No. Sync runs through Apple iCloud; we can't see your data. See Privacy Commitment.
Q: What if I change phones? Sign in on the new device with the same Apple ID and turn sync on. For important data, we recommend doing a one-time Export & Backup first.
Q: Will insight history sync? Not yet — multi-device sync for that is coming later.
